. . . a De Ville Dynamic with meteorite pattern blue dial, and in mint condition, too . . .

It was certainly an unexpected find and a great souvenir of LA. I don’t think Art or I quite believed what we were seeing at first: the solid gold case and De Ville badging against the funky blue accents and Dynamic design.

 

Totally goes against my ‘house style’, but a very fun addition to the collection and very wearable in the right circumstances. It is essentially NOS and needed to go to a good home.

Hi Snak!

Pleased you like it.  It came from an unexpected place which Art can tell you about. It's not exactly another vintage Omega paradise, but has an interesting and eclectic range of watches. A second vintage Omega watch left the shop on my wrist as well, but that's for another thread.

Great to talk Omega, amongst other things, with you on Sunday.

i've seen more than my fair share of Omega's,but i dont recall ever seeing a Dynamic with a dial like that. very nice indeed and i probably would have jumped on it if i'd been in your position.

I sometimes look at collections like yours and others and think that my collecting habits lack focus. However I do know what I like when I see it, and try to keep a range of colours, cases, sizes and complications amongst my watches.

I do appreciate your comments though!

It's unusual isn't it? Unfortunately I don't have the tools to get the case open and check serial numbers; frustrating.

I would think it dates to the mid-1970's. Do you think there would be a modern market for this sort of watch?

... i have not seen this dial color with this pattern before... to be my knowledge, DeVille + Dynamic is also quite rare!

i have one Geneva Dynamic blue dial which looks quite similar as yours (both second hands are in orange red). my one houses in Cal.750. i think both of us have the same movement, therefore they may be produced in around the same years.

Now that I look into it more carefully, there was such a range of colour combinations and finishes. We should try and collect a few into the one thread.

I assume the date-only Dynamic came first, followed by this day-date model? From what year is your Dynamic?

Is it possible to open the case at home? I assume the plastic lens comes out first, but I don't have the correct tools.
