I think I would prefer the platinum if I'm ever privileged to own one. My wife things the same and her comment for what its worth is that for my age (early thirties) she thinks that the platinum would look a bit more youthful than the golden look.

...the RG chosen by Philippe Dufour has a magic beauty about it which fascinates me.
The contrast of the colors is simply stunning. This watch is amazingly beautiful. I hope to post more representative photos.

...I prefer platinum in this case since it makes it more versatile and can be word daily.  Gold has incredible "pop" off the wrist though.  Platinum is much more low key.

The Dato is all things considered, close to the perfect watch.

Maybe PT for daily wear, and RG for evening functions.....  Hard to go wrong there.

My choice would be the Pt. 

I do however long for the RG/Black dial Dato for few years.

That desire shatters after I try on the Pt. I have to agree that I would wear the Pt. more that the RG. 
That's what really matter in the end.  


The flamboyant side remain in the closet ... ... smile

The other for admiring daily and wearing occasionally.

 

In some sense a perfect couple, like Beauty and the Beast smile

 

It's amazing how simliar they are and yet how different they look and feel. As much as i absolutely adore my PT and wear it everyday (including week-ends) for long periods of time during the year, i hold my breath in awe each time i behold my RG BD Datograph.

I normally like white metal for its low key but I think the RG/black dial is a perfect match for the dato.  WS
