Revisiting: Datograph
As some of you will know I no longer have my Datograph (it was replaced by another hand wound chronograph).
I was just looking through some old pictures and came across this one.

It was in the safe for 8 months while I tried to sell it and so it’s now almost a year since I had it on the wrist.

I agree with you.
It is a marvel to see but so is the datograph. My wrist are 6 3/4 in so anything beyond a 40mm is hard for me to pull off though.

That’s a collection. I have a deposit on a gen 1.5 Resonance to go with my Dato U/ D PT. But damn, your collection is nice.

Always the PT 1st gen. This last time I contacted an old friend Edwin H, which is probably the most photographed dato online and convinced him to sell me his. It was his photos and Peter Chong’s that drew me to Lange over 16 years ago. Everytime I sold the watch I regretted selling it. So that tells you something about the watch. I’ve owned a lot of great pieces over the years and if I had to have one it would be the datograph just took me a long time to realize it.

Perfection
the depth, finishing and skeletonization allowing the beauty to be on display. My preference would be for the 1815 chrono without the big date (thinner and cleaner dial), but platinum dato is the tops.
All I can say is that having originally chased the 1815, once the Dato was in my hands I couldn’t resist the big date. It’s powerful as a feature on the dial. [nt]

My goal is to obtain a Lange chrono at some point this year. Fingers crossed.
