It gained one sec in the day time, and lost it in the night time...
At the end of the month, the watch gained 2 to 3 secs!
The magic of these watches is just unbelievable... I should have kept it...

Expected Accuracy of Type XX
Very happy to be the new owner of a Type XX (3820) in stainless. It's my first Breguet and it's wonderful, but I have 2 questions about the accuracy I should expect from it:
#1) Over the weekend I set and checked it several times and found it consistently losing nearly 2 seconds per hour. That would be -24sec/day which certainly seems excessive to me, but what should I expect?
#2) Second question, for people more familiar with the details of the movement, should one expect a difference in the watches overall time keeping when the chrono is in use versus when it is not? IE, what impact does running the chrono have on accuracy? And what impact is acceptable?

Here are my answers ...
I own the same watch (3820), my second one -- first was stolen, and my experience is that it should not deviate more than +-2-3 seconds/day (depends on the usage pattern). My first one was 100% accurate and my second one, I acquired it pre-owned, is under test because it may require cleaning/oiling soon.
About your questions:
#1) My first guess is that the watch is magnetized and a watch maker can fix this in no time without the need to open the case. Other guesses, in low order of priority, is a "tangled" coil. In any case it pays to have the watch checked using a time machine (my watchmaker uses a Witsch Watch Expert) that can reveals if the watch needs more attention.
#2) This is a more complex question. Since the chronograph of the XX is can level operated (I believe), it's expected a reduction of the amplitude when the chrono is engaged that may interfere with the accuracy but this is not expected on a brand new watch.
If your watch is still under warranty, you should take to a Breguet AD.

Is possible with any modern watch, even the more pedestrian (ETA based) ones.
It depends how much time the watchmaker is willing to spend to perform the regulation (and, of course, you be willing to pay for his/her time).
One example is my LLD. When I got it (pre-owned) it was performing around -10s/day.
I challenged my watchmaker and, believe it or not, is +1s/day (just checked)!!

I had a Rolex 16700 ( GMT ) which was even more spectacular...
It gained one sec in the day time, and lost it in the night time...

as I have the XXI and I had the same issue at the beginning and after I demagnetize it, perfect. I never leave my chrono run 24 hrs a day except the pp 5960 and 5980 which states clearly there is no extra wear and tear.
I love my Type XX Aeronavale...

I find this Breguet, the more classy of my three favorite chronos, though.
I feel that a visit to your AD will put your watch within its marvelous timing capabilities.
By the way, I never let the "trotteuse" run all the time, except when I wish to time some event, or just amuse myself looking at the work of my watch, and then I stop it.
