Breguet Marine 5817 late
Hi!
I have a Breguet Marine 5817 black Rhodium dial. As I read in this forum everybody is happy with it's precision.
If I wear it daily ot is ok.....some seconds late/day, but if I let it on my desk for half a day I found an 8 minutes late.
Is it ok? Do you think I need to take it to the "doctor"?

P.S. Checked with Kello app for iphone it shows a +6s/day.

I would not worry about the performance on your desk. Unless you are wearing your desk around LOL.
I think that servicing is always my last resort. As long as the watch is withing reasonable tolerance when you wear it just enjoy it.

Usually I am not carying my desk with me ( but it's never too late). I was wondering what is your regular approach: wear the watch all the time // leave it during night// leave it when you come home.
And what's the best way to use it: let it only on automatic movement or to turn it daily a bit (let's say 10-20 turns)?

You may want to try a few things
The official setting on a watch winder would be CCW 500 i.e. counter clockwise 500 turns per day.
From what I gather on the wrist is keeps time all day but it seems that in the rest position you have some issues. I would experiment with the position that you put it at rest time face up, face down and side. I can guess that you most like rest it on the side. Face down would be easy. Face up with a rubber strap may need you to put it on a watch cushion.
Regarding giving it a few turns could also be an option just before resting give a few turns to give it a little extra boost.
The final thought. Is this a watch you are wearing everyday or is it being worn occasionally which can also explain the behavior and the power reserve.

I am wearing it everyday....proud and happy owner! You guessed right: I put it on side, I imagine it is the easiest way to put it on the table because it has the rubber strap.
I can try face down, but seems inesthetically and I'm afraid of scratching the glass.

Thanks for the winder directions: I checked the forum and I found the same 500 CCW indication from 2 different places.
Unfortunatelly I don't have a watchwinder and I am thinking of buying one since the Marine has replaced an automatic Tank Francaise which is resting in his box right now.
As for the pictures: I am waiting for the sunny rays tommorow.

We are spoiled in SoCal. But I vcan tell you our water is freeeeezzzzzing. We don't swim much during the year just the few months / days when the water reaches 65 degrees fahrenheit + / 17 centi
we are talking cold water on the Pacific. We need to go 1000 mile south to get warm water. Our friends in Florida enjoy water in the 80s and 90s. But they do also have hurricanes which we don't.
I guess you can't win them all.

i had the same problem, i guess it was because I travel a lot (airplanes, check controls etc..).. so it was "magnetized" somehow
I took it to a real place (Wempe in Paris), and it took 10 seconds for the "watch guy" to make it work... for free, of course (they have a device for that)
Since then , +/- 2 second a day
By the way, this watch is a killer
