Breguet

Dear Purists

Want to get your vote on the above 2 pieces (rubber strap, water proof casual ss watch), I don't onw any of them but am planning to get one or the other.  I wouldn't consider the Aquanaut until the 40mm comes out but there was such a long waiting list until recently.  The Marine II on the other hand is an older model and is more readily available.  (Any other choice / suggestion?)

I know this is the Breguet forum, so will get biased results but I konw most forum readers go into other brands anyway.  Pricing is usually not discussed here but we sometimes need to come up againt practical questions and pricing (value for money) is an important factor as the PP is quite a bit more.

My personal vote would be for the Marine because I prefer the Breguet engine-turned dial and nothing beats the heat blued Breguet hands. 
Have you tried both side by side on your wrist?   If they were equally priced which one would you choose?

I also like the blue hands, the guilloche dial and the fluted case side. Even it is the same price, I probably will choose Breguet but PP fans will criticise Marine II does not use in house movement.  To me, the "package" is more important than just one point on whether the movement is in house.  Anyway, the Marine II movement is Piquet (correct me if I am wrong) which is a very high quality piece of equipment.  I might post the same question in the PP forum later....just to see what they think.

In sports mode and dress mode.  This watch is truly versatile.  I swim and summer with this beauty without hesitation.

Though is is a slender 39 mm it wears beautifully due to the lug design and the rubber strap is a gem.

Finally the buck is a unique among buckle. 

It will always bring a smile on your face.

And each of these 2 is a good choice, IMO.

But personally, I would go on the Breguet Marine:

A Superb dial, nice hands, pure DNA of the brand.

And a superb presence on the wrist.

A watch which can go under a suit sleeve, or more casual.

Actually I like both but my heart slightly tips over the Marine II.  However, I saw the this very mint condition Aquanaut in bracelet in the shop the other day, couldn't hold it.  (I have a tendency to do it this wasy)  Here is what I've got now.  I must admit it is very comfortable and extremely good quality, so thin as well.  I also like the colour changing anthracite dial as well.  The bracelet actually looks quite good and blends very well with the case.  (compared with the earlier model's bracelet which tries to blend with the dial pattern)   Will still save up for the Marine II Big Date, a number of months......

This said,Marine wins hands down for me.

Nautilus and Aquanauts have their own fan club,I tried to like them hard but could not find very much affection towards them in the end.The medium size Aquanaut in YG probably is an exception,looked quite nice in metal.
