Race Results first 24 hours .
Breguet Marine 5817
After 1 day the results is.
1st. Breguet Marine 5817 Day 1. =05- Seconds
Notes:
I have been wearing the watch. So this is on wrist stats against Time.gov ov.
The site on the first day lists accurate to 0.4 seconds and today it was at 0.2 seconds.
I am not sure whether I need to read into this.
Hi Bill...is that half a second or 5 seconds per day, I see that Corey has a 5817 that is running at around 30 secs per month...Mine is still going at 4 seconds slow after 8 days...about the same as Corey's.
I have been wearing mine as a daily in conjunction with the Seawolf Avenger....which is now running at around 8 seconds fast over 8 days.
Thanks also for doing the test...I look forward to the result.
Kindest regards,
Jack
tos ee the outcome in a few days.

Hi Bill,
Thanks for the update....A bit of eratica there Bill...lets see what happens in the next day or so.
My 5817 is still on track, it is now the 10th over here and just after 6 pm so it has been running 9 full days and is about five and a half seconds slow over that period.
Sadly I checked the Brietling Seawolf Avenger tonight and it ran out of puff....I have been alternating them both this week and it seems that I did not use the Brietling enough as it has died....but it only has approx 45 hrs reserve.
But I must say it was doing exceptionally well.
Kindest regards,
Jack
Hi Bill,
To set up the 5817 I first checked UTC and GMT with Microsoft Windows computer clock time which is adjusted everytime you go on line and all three are exact.....some times it seems that when you click onto these UTC and GMT web sites the times may be out a few seconds especially if you have used that site recently..but will correct within about 10 seconds or you can refresh the page.
To set the watch I just set it with the minute hand on the 12 and applied slight back pressure to the winder to keep the second hand also on the 12 oclock position until UTC-GMT clicked over to then I released the crown and off it went.
I had to do it a couple of times to get it exactly synchronized but when 6.00pm on the 1st ticked over it was perfect.
Tonight after 10 days and four hours it is still around 6 seconds slow....so I am just so happy with this watch.
Kindest regards,
Jack
I dont know...I will have had mine under test for 28 days tomorrow...I don't know what a month should be ...I guess 28 days and 6 hours would be most average but that is 02.00hrs our time... and I dont think I will be wanting to be up then and if I am I might be too Scotched out to make a serious measurment.
Anyway 28 days is close enough and that will be at 18.00hrs tomorrow so I will give a monthly report then.
kindest regrds,
Jack
As to your question about sending your watch back for adjustment.
Last night I posted the final result of the 28 day test and I am obviously thrilled with my 5817's time keeping...as to if you should get yours adjusted by Breguet....I think the fact is now established, by the response of yourself and others, that the 5817 has the ability to maintain regulararity......it follows that if correctly adjusted that it can be an extreemly accurate timekeeper.
It also follows that mine has maintained a continued loss factor of an average of 1.1 seconds per day.....again very regular...and if it had been adjusted more correctly it might have maintained an even better time.
Do I send it back to Breguet for a fine tuning....No way...I am happy....Very Happy.
There is a very good feeling to have a watch that you can set on the 1st of the month and you can look at on the 15th of the month and calculate that the actual time is only 15 seconds different from your wristshaking timeteller.
If it were 150 seconds different...and I knew it had the ability to be regular...then I would possibly get it right....if it were my main or favourite watch.
If it is just another watch, which I am sure no Breguet is, I would not worry as you might only wear it for a day or so a month.
Kindest regrads,
Jack
