Description

I am on the fence about this limited edition Walter Lange 1815 Up/Down in rose gold but might be interested in something a little larger in size. The Walter Lange Limited Edition is limited to 50 pieces in rose gold and is larger in size than the regular version at 37.5mm. It also features a hinged case back that opens up to show show a transparent case. This are hard to find and destined to become a collector's item. The watch is in near mint condition and comes with everything and is still under warranty.

Interested in trades with appropriate cash adjustments. Also interested in an outright sale and will entertain all reasonable offers. Please email with any questions.

📖 About This Reference

The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Up and Down reference 221.032 brings the power reserve complication to the 1815 collection in 18kt rose gold, creating a timepiece of warm elegance and practical intelligence. The power reserve arc at twelve o'clock provides a constant visual reference to the caliber L941.1's remaining energy, descending over the course of 45 hours from fully wound to rest. On the silver dial, this indicator integrates seamlessly with the existing elements -- the railroad chapter ring, the subsidiary seconds at six, the Arabic numerals -- creating a balanced, symmetrical composition. The 35.9mm rose gold case is a vessel of restrained luxury. A. Lange & Söhne's rose gold alloy achieves a warm, pinkish tone that avoids the aggressive copper saturation seen in some competing manufactures. The case finishing combines polished and satin-brushed surfaces with careful precision, and the slender profile ensures the watch sits close to the wrist. The manual winding operation, performed daily, becomes a meaningful ritual -- a moment of connection between the owner and the mechanical heart of the watch. The "Up and Down" nomenclature borrows from the language of marine chronometers, instruments that tracked their power state with life-or-death seriousness. In the context of the 1815 collection, the complication serves a gentler purpose: it keeps the owner informed and engaged with the watch's mechanical life. Reference 221.032 in rose gold is an ideal expression of this philosophy, a watch that combines Ferdinand Adolph Lange's heritage with modern material preferences and a complication that enhances daily usability without disturbing the 1815's essential simplicity.

Traded away a watch I loved for one I’ve been wanting for a very long time.
Transitioned from sports watches to high-end dress pieces, influenced by a Parmigiani Fleurier initial purchase. Traded for Brequet Tradition, then Patek Philippe 5170g. Shifted focus to manual wound chronographs, obtaining A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Up/Down.
