Yes, in Singapore

The Indians and Malays are often marginalized to come think of it. I witnessed many incidents where “ah-bengs” publically attacked these minorities and hurl slurs at them with little or no consequences. If I could turn back time, I’d stand up for those being bullied.
There is nothing like home…I’ll be back soon. Vietnam was good too - I faced no incidents of discrimination living there for 4 years, even amidst the Vietnam-Sino tensions. Here it is every few days or so…therefore it is not likely an isolated incident, but a systemic one.
Come longer next time brother; maybe I’d take you to the shires. We’d likely need a Aussie- Russian chaperone to prevent incidents there - I often have to use intermediaries to diffuse situation because when they deal with their own kind, the outcomes are better. Thank God I have intermediaries, woe to those who suffer in silence.
My friend, a pilot from Singapore once went to a rural area. There in a bistro, a man shouted at him “what are u doing here (insert bad word for asian person). He did not know what to do. He just froze up and said sorry.
