Ultraman, an unusual perspective. The only note I have, is about the dial:

I would have preferred a more marked stepped dial and, above all, the minute markers painted on the dial, not in a recess engraving...

In the Omega official pictures (the magic of photography!), the step of the dial seems very marked, but in reality it looks quite flat, especially because the minute indexes are recessed into the dial surface.

If in the future the wonderful dial with step would reappears, I hope Omega looks at the beauty of the three-dimensionality old stepped dials with the "long" minute markers painted on the dial, rather than this timid solution applied to the Ultraman!

Have a great week, folks!

… and I decided against it. I had several reasons more, but partly also because of this... 😉

With Ultraman something has reappeared...

I believe that with the current technology a cool stepped dial and a cool print can be done! I hope Omega will listen us and give a surprise like the 60th anniversary

The marks of a true Speedynnaisseur :)

Not having seen one live yet I definitely appreciate your analysis, Massi - as you say not all pictures show this Let’s hope next year‘s SpeedyTuesday will incorporate the elements Have a great week!

Sad to hear the step is not so pronounced as in vintage models or in the pics!

The last stepped dials were installed on -'74s, to the best . . .

. . . of my recollection. That's one solid reason to search for a '74 ref 145.022. Art

Really my dear Art?

74 is my birthyear, so... A 145.022-74 with a stepped dial would be my grail! Thanks for pointing this! Best. René

Also the year I graduated high school . . .

. . . which explains why I'm so drawn to '74 Plymouth Barracudas. If I could've bought myself a graduation present then, it would've be a 360 'Cuda. Today, might as well get a '74 Speedy! Art ...

My mom had a barracuda
