I use Polywatch on my acrylic crystals but toothpaste does work in a pinch(never use Gel style......very abrasive:-( )
The crystal will do for now, but I will get it replaced with a lower profiled one eventually.
I also agree that a watch can only be original once....and it seems that this one retains it's originality......and shall continue to be.
Just as this Wittnauer has never been serviced or re-finished.....other than a new crystal.

A warm welcome to the forum! Your watch seems to be all orignal and authentic including dial and crown! It is the original crown which was used on this reference 2318 in the beginning of the 40ies! Tell us some more about this watch please. Enjoy this nic...
