Returned parts

Missed your post of 14tht!
No parts were returned. They were only the main-spring and the cannon pinion, neither of which consumer parts were of value to the original watch in my view. The main-spring had shown weakness and the cannon pinion was worn allowing the minute hand to slip, so I took the opportunity of having the watched serviced where the movement had to be disassembled in any case. The jeweller took a long time to carry out the work but I wondered whether he had difficulty in obtaining the replacements. He did not say so and just apologised for the long delay where he had been extremely prompt on previous work for me.

. . . these third-generation Connies represented the high point of Omega for vintage collectors. Nothing more satisfying than resuscitating an old war-horse, especially when it's been in your possession since forever. Congrats, Clive! Art

I feel lucky to have bought it from a former mature student/work colleague to whom this treasure, when new had been his 21st birthday present. Purists know all about opportunism! Clive
