Question on Vintage Seamaster 300s

Jan 25, 2008,10:11 AM

Hello Guys

I thought I knew the SM300s well, I have had many of those and have been reading quite a lot on them.  Non-date usually with cal. 552, date usually with cal 565. References 165.024 and 166.024 respectively.

I have recently seen many ref. 165.0024 (an extra zero).  I have associated these with recently supplied replacement backs from Omega )post year 2000) but I am told instead that 165.0024 is an original reference from Omega.

Is it really?  Were any SM300 actually branded as 165.0024?

Thanks for your knowledge

Best
Franco
