i must say that i will always prefer the speedy, but i owned one of the earlier blue dialled SMP 300 chrono's and they are pretty bomb proof. this movement is better than the earlier 7750 variant so you've got a good daily beater that will happily take a bashing. i also had the black dialled smp 300 non chrono from the 1990's and really wish i'd kept it as they look so much better than the blue dialled models.
