I was able to find...

...two similar watches that sold in the past. Both had cal. 283, and both were listed as 39mm+ in diameter, so those parts certainly make sense.
One was sold at a Christie's auction in 2007 for over US$20K. But that particular example was a factory prototype for the Synchrobeat, with some special modifications. These included both a subsidiary and center seconds hands. The other watch seemed to be a more standard cal. 283 model and was priced accordingly.
You can find them both through a Google search using the terms"Omega 2545 283".
Not sure about the Central Watch Case Co., but it would seem to be a US case manufacturer. I've also seen that "CB" symbol on other Omega cases, so I'm not sure what to make of that.
More pictures, please! Sounds like a very interesting piece.
Take care,

Thanks Gator. More pics for you here. It's only a gold plated case but I love it because it looks big on my wrist and very close to my GMT. I leave the crown and everything as it was on the day it came into my possession. Lug size is 20mm....
Goldplated yes, but without..

the "only". Normal thickness for the industrie in those days was a layer of 10 - 20 micron. Omega went much further with 40 micr. and even a colossal 80 micr. for certain other models (like yours), that was 'rolled on' to the basic material. This is huge:...

Hi, I have got a very similar model with the "neighbor" ref. # 2544 in SS which is also 39mm and has SUB-second. These both references seem to be the largest cases with 30mm family movements ever built I guess... No picture at the time - it is "in the S...
