Apollo 15: Drive time

Feb 15, 2019,09:12 AM

The ninth Apollo mission took off on the 26.07.71 and lasted for 12 days 7 hours and 11 minutes! returning home on the 07.08.71

On board were the Astronauts, David Scott, Alfred Worden and James Irwin.

Their mission, was the fourth moon landing and the first time the Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV) was used! It covered 27.9km on the lunar surface.

The mission was famous for demonstrating the Galileo principle by dropping a feather and a hammer at the same time- of course they landed  at the same too!

Speedmaster’s were of course essential equipment and all three astronauts wore them:

However, David Scott also took a Bulova to the moon as unofficial equipment.

 David Scott

 Alfred Worden

James Irwin

David Scott: 105.012-CB (likely- from the shape of the lugs)

Alfred Worden: 105.012-65

James Irwin: 105.12-65
