Speedmaster Apollo-Soyuz

The ones you show are absolutely great.  However, I would recommend the limited edition, Apollo-Soyuz.  It has a meteorite dial and sapphire crystal (vs acrylic).  Not sure if it's easy to find though. I've been on the hunt for one.

A suggestion....

.. It is not clear whether those two are already at your place, but my suggestion is to have a watchmaker or the dealer open the back, then you see the reference number and if possible the serial number of the movement. Go to Omega website and check the r...

Thank you Ken!

I will check reference and serial numbers. the upper one looks older but the other one has the metal logo on the dial which up to my humble knowledge, would mean older as later on they started using the white painted logo. Anyway, thank you so much for yo...

There are pieces on a much better shape that the ones that you show. The first one has a case back way over polished and the dial seems to belong to a 861 (no applied Omega logo). The second one, if is a 321 (as it shows on the dial) has the incorrect chr...

Thank you so much!

you are rigth, I am blind in this new field of omega´s watches, and as we all know, anxiety is not a good partner. I will continue exploring and I hope to get some knowledge enough to avoid a mistake. Thank you again Kind regards

You're on the right track, For having posted here for the many experts to guide you. I'd agree, both pieces you've been offered seem pretty beat up, and I'd look for something better. Condition is always king for me when buying an older, used watch, for w...

Have you seen Omega's beautiful new (but styled with vintage cues) Speedmaster '57?

That is an excelent oprtion!

 By: FrancisV : February 4th, 2014-13:40
You are quite rigth! I have seen it on internet, but never had one in my hands, and effectively it combines the vintage look (straight lugs and hands) with the modern advantages, "best of two worlds! Thank you again for your kind advice! Kind regards

What about the First Omega in Space ...

 By: nilomis : February 7th, 2014-05:36
I had one (my single Omega now) and is quite cool. It mimics the original watch, no crown guards, straight lugs but with sapphire crystal. On the inside a 1861, manual wind as it should be a Speedmaster. Cheers, Nilo ...

Stunning!

If I were to own and wear a modern version...

This would definitely be the one. However, in the same price range: How 'bout an original 145022-68 or 69? Although hard to find in genuine "original" condition, but isn't the hunt almost as much fun as the wearing?

what a coincidence!

 By: FrancisV : February 9th, 2014-16:30
Mikki, tomorrow I will go to see a 145.022, cal 861 from 1969 that I was offered as "all original". I will let you know how it was. Thank you very much for your help! Kind regards

All original should look like this...

 By: MikiJ : February 9th, 2014-17:23
Additionally "original" would have an Omega logo they are easy to source, which I have. Good hunting, Miki ...

despite being an omega addict and huge speedmaster fan there is not much i can add
