Omega Speedmaster 2998
I own an Omega Speedmaster 2998-2, 321 chrono movement with 17 million serial number, dating the watch to 1960. It has a tritium dial and was told by the seller when I purchased it a few years back that the dial was original to the watch. I have seen several other 2998s with tritium dials (including a 2998-1 on this website). However, I been told by numerous Omega collectors the the dial cannot be original as Omega did not issue tritium dials in Speedmasters until about 1963.
Can anybody provide information on this, one way or the other, if Omega issued tritium dials on 2998 Speedmasters? Just want to know true facts about my watch. Sent email to Omega requesting clarification but have not heard back yet.
Thanks,
Robert
