Big Blue with an open back

I have this beautiful Omega 176.004 the Big Blue, that my father gifted to me in the very early 80’s. I’m an earlier post I reported how it went back to service after 40 years running on its own. It always bothered me that the watch being as old as it is, has no see through back. I know the movement was not adorned as current Omega watches, but it is a very nicely executed one that reflects the mentality of its time. I knew of a company that was making see through case backs for Omegas and Rolexes, but they didn’t list anything with my reference number. After much self debating I ordered one of their case backs whose measurements approximated my Big Blue’s properties.
I received the case back today and to a fantastic surprise, the see through case back is a perfect match!

Cool mod! I thought about doing the same to a Mk II . . .

. . . but parted with it before making the change. You'll get an extra measure of pleasure every time you put it on your wrist. Thanks for sharing! Impressed, Art

Very cool looking one!
