We're not talking..real Panerai vs not real Panerai.

After almost 20 years since the take over by the Richemont Group (1997), Panerai has gone through a natural...evolution...down the road of commercialization. In fact I recognoise 3 DISTINCT historical periods in Panerai: the vintage (pre 1993), the Pre-V (1993-97) and the modern (1997 - to date). Each of them, in it's own right, has produced REAL Panerai, since they all bear the name. You mention blue dials. There are a number of models with blue dials, going as far back as year 2000 when, 3 Limited Edition models (PAM65 - 81- 82) sported blue dials. Furthermore, 2 of the models were SMALL Panerais - PAM65/42mm and PAM81/40MM Through all this, there are some of us (me, ME, MEEEE) that believe that the brand's heritage should not be discarded, overlooked, forgotten, belittled in favour of the needs of the company's balance sheet

personal taste is personal taste and, as such, cannot be criticized. But Panerai was BORN as a large sized timepiece and that also, cannot be re-written. If one has a small wrist, in my opinion, shouldn't even look at a Panerai. Having said that, you like...
