Officine Panerai

The strap does make a difference.

With Panerais recent focus on 44mm releases, I’d been  having increasingly mixed feelings about how my 47mm 372 fits me. It does wear bigger on my wrist than it used to, but Panerais have a special dispensation (almost a special rule) to wear big. Still, it wasn’t sitting stable on my wrist like before. Then I recalled how Sergio pointed out that the JV strap wasn’t necessarily the best match, and others recently highlighted the general idea of trying a different strap to reinvigorate the experience.  So I found this old Gunny strap (although longer than usual) and voila! The strap is supple, allowing me to tighten iand stabilize the watch on my wrist. It also has a more rugged, worn / broken in look that I like better on the 372.  As such, I’m happy that I’ve found a way to enjoy the 372 and particularly the 47mm size again instead of selling it off toward something smaller.  I do prefer a regular length strap, so I’ll see what else may be left over. Nevertheless, thank you to the specific and collective advice of the forum🙏🏽.
