There is PLEXI in the CALI due to the historical focus of that piece.The original version was wearing plaxi also ( crystal was expensive and easy to break during tough period of war), so having PLEXI again is a tribute to the old days.
I dont think anybody will use the CALI as a real diver...so, there is no big issue having PLEXI. As Amanico is saying: historical look, warm, clear view and you can refinish it yourself using Polywatch. Very few pieces out there using PLEXI and most of them are really special mate.
