AFAIK, nobody changed the plexy for a sapphire.

 


Therefore, as Panerai released a close re edition ( sorry for the redundance ) of the original Cali, they thought ( and I agree ) that it would be better to have the Plexy.

I just regret to not have a solid case back.

Also, the plexy gives a superb look, very warm, to the whole watch, and especially the dial.

To have such a domed crystal is possible ( Refer to the 127 ) but very expensive.

so, the plexy solution is good, IMO.
