I am, however, wondering why the titanium case is so dark.

It has a Diamond Like Coating (DLC) that give it that black color, same as the PAM 779.

...as modern Panerai go. Being a future "rarity", might raise the bar a little bit, maybe

But, I find the 911 could have had "Panerai" omitted as well: ...  

didn't ruin the PAM00203 for me. I like this one, it will be light and I hope it will have white luminous markers and numbers, unlike the 914,915
