I too felt that the PAM317 shouldn't be that difficult to get at a Panerai Boutique because of the high retail price - there's less demand cause of it. Since you got yours in 5 days, I must agree with you that flippers probably are trying to "hype" the PAM317 unavailability.
I doubt the composite coating on the PAM339 will make ceramic outdated. Remember, the PAM339 uses an aluminum case as the core and then the brown composite is put on top of the aluminum, hence the PAM339 is light in weight. So cause of the lightness of this composite, there will still be many who prefer the ceramic case for its added heft.

New strappage
Picked up the tunnel strap and Rob Montana did a fantastic job switching the black stitching to off white. Matches the dial really well and really adds some depth to the strap. Will be hard to switch this one off....
