Personally I think the same way as you do, however, when browsing through the grey markets around, can easily find that 9's price is even going higher than the 190's. What do you think about that? Only because of 9 takes a load of history heritage?

9A for me as well. I really like the look of the T-dials. I have a 190 now and wouldn't mind adding a 9A or 4A. Both are great pieces in their own right, and which ever you choose will be a winner.
