I was fortunate to spend a couple of days in Geneva last April at SIHH when the PAM309 and PAM322 were first displayed. From my perspective they were the hit of the show. I personally preferred the PAM322 due to the brown dial and the smaller number produced, i.e. 100 of the PAM309 and only 50 of the PAM322. I do concur that it is a close call, and probably the reason the retail price established by Panerai is the same for each model. I don't think either would be a mistake but I am very happy with the PAM322.

Normally I usually always go for the black dial watch
but in this case, since most of my watches are black dialed, and the brown dialed PAM322 looks as equally great as the black dialed PAM309 IMO, I'd choose the PAM322 so I can mix up my collection. Cheers, Anthony
