Thanks for your mail.
I did plan to buy the 319 and asked the AD to locate one for me. I have examined the watch myself and initially the first click to start the chrono has no problem and the split system has no issue. When I reset and start to chrono function again, it just cannot function anymore. I don't know but I think the watch does not have any issue since it has been stored for sometime and I should be the only one who take it out from the box.
Anyway, I like PAM but if the quality is not stable, I really cannot risk my money to buy a watch that has potential high risk in malfunction.

If that's the case, then a high probability is it broke at the AD
maybe store employee or customer accidently dropped box or watch on floor/counter sometime. Way too many unknowns to even blame Panerai IMO. Cheers, Anthony

But were both watches wound up?
If the watches are not wound up, then the chronograph won't work. That's just too much of a coincidence for 2 watches to not work and have the same problem. - AT
