The Legend of the Pam 40

 By: amanico : March 4th, 2008-06:36
Since I made a review about the Pam 36, it seemed to me that it wasn't fair to not do a review of the Pam 40, a mysterious watch. The link to the review of the Pam 36 panerai.watchprosite.com Why Mysterious? Because you can always have a look on all the P...

Nico, very nice wrap up of a great watch.

The PAM 40 is indeed a collector's gem. Just one part about the genealogy - the PAM25 was the first titanium watch produced by Panerai. It is also black dial, tritium indexes and solid caseback. Also worth mentioning that variations on the dial are known ...

Yep, but I meant A Luminor, Asi

Each Time I consider a Luminor as the First Panerai titanium watch, you're of course right. BUT, as for the dials, I didn't know that there were L dials, excepted killed Pam 40 by a Panerai Service Center who put a replacement dial... I believed that all ...

There were L dials and

most likely also T-hyphen dials, coming directly from Panerai but I would always prefer a dial that need no explaining. Other collectors prefer the rarity and mystic behind the non conventional dials. To each his own - but the main point is that the 40 is...

Yes, Asi, but again

Only thing I wish the PAM40 had was the display back like that found in the PAM36. I always prefer display backs over solid backs 99% of the time I bet the PAM40 would be a killer on a vintage beat up brown calf leather strap! Cheers, Anthony

Thanks for the review.

The PAM40 look great and stunning, nice outstanding patina on the black dial, plus titanium caseback. However, between PAM40 and PAM36...I would pick the PAM36 only because the 4 lines and see-through caseback. Thanks again for the review. Very good pics ...

wonderful post, thanks!

I would have a tough time choosing between those two pieces if they were in my stable. The T dials really adds character to both those pieces.

Thanks, Kglaw

one of the experts spoke about the pam 40 ... glad to see that my humble opinion and knowledge in watches fully agrees with an opinion of an expert Pam 36 and 40 are different watches both are unique in their own context , acquiring both would be heavenly...

Collection vs wrist.....

 By: sergio : October 10th, 2011-04:14
I agree with you that, as a collector, having both 36&40 would be the "thing to do". It's not that difficult to achieve, either, you've just got to have the...financial...means.. As the wrist goes, however, after having come across a 36, it would be very ...

starting from your point of view....

 By: aldossari_faisal : October 10th, 2011-04:19
i would say that the pam 40 would be my daily wearer or frequent one and pam 36 would get wrist time sparingly .... Best . Faisal
