Thomas, I just inquired at a MB boutique and they are unaware of a stainless
steel version of the Star Nicolas Rieussec using the manual wind MBR100. They also said that the inital 300 piece limited edition were made only with precious metals.
I think there may have been a mistake in the review since Anthony also wrote up Montblanc's SIHH 2008 and stated:
"The 43mm Rieussec Monopusher will be produced in a limited edition of 300 total pieces using the manual wind MB R100 in-house movement - 125 pieces in rose gold, 25 pieces in platinum, and white and yellow gold each in 75 pieces. The steel version using the automatic MB R200 movement will be an unlimited production and has the addition of a 2nd time zone with day/night display."
The only stainless steel Rieussec model so far is the skeleton date released in 2009. It is also a manual wind. In terms of affordability I personally think it is reasonable.
Who knows what SIHH 2010 will bring
