Hello everybody!
I am interested in the Nicolas Rieussec Monopusher Chronograph in stainless steel, the date-only version (not the gmt-open date one). Does anyone know the exact reference number and/or its list price in $?
Any ownership experiences to share? (pics are as always welcome)
Thanks for reading,
Thomas
choice
You can see that the ownership group is growing everyday since the Rieussec was first introduced at SIHH2008. Check out Mitch's post below!
I think you may be confusing two models together.
Unfortunately the Manual wind MBR100 is a limited edition of 300 total pieces- 125 pieces in rose gold, 25 pieces in platinum, and white and yellow gold each in 75 pieces. There are no stainless steel pieces available.
This was the release in 2008 with white gold. Ident. No. 102333

You can read our in depth review of the yellow gold version of this watch click here Just remember the production quality has improved much since then.
Perhaps you mean this SIHH2009 model?

It is the skeletonized date version using the manual wind MBR110. This model was released in stainless steel. The MSRP varies in different regions but in the US it is about 15,000$.
Let us know which one you saw!
Welcome and hope to see you posting often,
Mike
Thanks a lot Mike for this kind welcome, I should probably apologize for not having mentioned that I post for the 1st time at this forum. Although a fan of traditional manufacturers, I think that Montblanc has chosen the right "path" to follow, and therefore deserves at least a look, or even more! Actually I am based on the perfect review by Anthony Tsai and VL Kong montblanc.watchprosite.com
where I read.." The Montblanc Nicolas Rieussec that we will review is the limited edition yellow gold version of 75 pieces. Other precious metal limited editions are available in platinum (25 pieces), white gold (75 pieces), and rose gold (125 pieces). The regular production pieces are offered in stainless steel". Is it something I don't understand well?
Could you please (or anybody else of course) mention which references are actually available is s/s? (since affordability is an issue..)
Thanks again for your help!
Thomas
steel version of the Star Nicolas Rieussec using the manual wind MBR100. They also said that the inital 300 piece limited edition were made only with precious metals.
I think there may have been a mistake in the review since Anthony also wrote up Montblanc's SIHH 2008 and stated:
"The 43mm Rieussec Monopusher will be produced in a limited edition of 300 total pieces using the manual wind MB R100 in-house movement - 125 pieces in rose gold, 25 pieces in platinum, and white and yellow gold each in 75 pieces. The steel version using the automatic MB R200 movement will be an unlimited production and has the addition of a 2nd time zone with day/night display."
The only stainless steel Rieussec model so far is the skeleton date released in 2009. It is also a manual wind. In terms of affordability I personally think it is reasonable.
Who knows what SIHH 2010 will bring
Best, Mike
Montblanc Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph GMT in stainless steel and uses the automatic MBR200 (also comes in a gray dial). Also has the day/night indicator at 9 o'clock. List price is just a tad less than USD $10k. For an in-depth review of the watch: click here
The Rieussec date only (see below pic) uses the manual MBR100 movement and currently only comes in precious metals. Not currently available in stainless steel.

a conversation I've had with Montblanc Boutique in Athens. They had the Manually wound date version in YG, and claimed (on the phone) that the s/s version of this exact same watch has a list price of approximately 7k euros, although not currently available at this particular store. Maybe they were refering to the gmt automatic version, as Anthony explained, which by the way ,seems like a no less beautiful choice and a more "complicated" one!
Thanks again for the info, really glad to participate in this forum!
Thomas
and please do let us know if you decide to get the stainless steel Rieussec GMT!
Cheers,
Anthony
and thanks for posting,
Mike

MB refers to it as the "open date"
The change this year to the Rieussic line will be interesting
More in December!
Best, Mike
Hello All,
Are there any information about the price N.R. s/s "open date" version?
I check (by reference number) in my local (polish) M.B. dealers but they don't say nothing about price.
The latest retail price for the open date Rieussec is about $15,000 dollars
Pricing may vary around the world and so I do not know what the final price will be in Poland.
The New York Montblanc Boutique expects the first shipment of the Open Date Rieussec in Jan 2010.
I hope to see you posting more. Are Montblanc watches popular in Poland?
Best, Mike
Thank's Mike
I landed to this site by accident when I looking for some informations about SIHH 09 - but I'm going to be with you for a long time
I think if now Poland is young market for all hi-brands watches. Only a few years we have profesional seller (Apart ) with brands like Audemars Piguet, Breitling, IWC, etc.
Montblanc is popular in Poland like brand - that maked best write instruments (probably by Meisterstuck Frederick Chopin pen). From what I know watches are'nt popular maybe it's cos the whole country we have three stories located in major cites (Warsaw and Krakow).
I live in west-side region in of my country and have closer to Berlin where MB Boutique are better and MB watches are most popular.
Some of my Germans friends have MB watches and therefore my interesed about this watches. Now I'm so seriously interesed to buy MB Nicolas Rieussec cos is just beautiful.

P.S. Sorry for my bad english.
Thank you for describing the watch environment in Poland. It is always interesting to hear what other enthusiasts are able to see and touch in their home country.
I'm glad that you find the MB Rieussec beautiful. It is a definate hit. Wait until you see what MB has planned for SIHH 2010 !
Hope to see you here often and Happy Holidays,
Mike
PS- your english is a lot better than my Polish
