Pocket watch and table clock

Something different for a presentation today. This is a 4810 Orbis Terrarum pocket watch by Montblanc. Many of you know and own the different iterations of the Montblanc world timer as a wristwatch (so do I as well), but this version is not seen very often.

110 units were produced in 2016 and sold rather quickly within a year. I was lucky to get one as well and have been using it since then - not as a pocket watch but as a table clock. It is made of a stainless steel block and measures 53mm, being quite heavy and thus also solid as a table clock. The dial is derived from the second version of the wristwatch, being very colorful with respect to the time zones. The caseback is engraved with a german ship that crossed the atlantic ocean 110 years ago between New York, Southhampton and Hamburg.

In my opinion this was a surprising offering at that time and since then there have been no further pocket watches by Montblanc. Should you ever come across one of those examples give it a look and feel!

Last time I saw one on c24 was probably two years ago. But as there are 110 pieces I guess it will show from time to time, maybe also on auctions. Good luck!

Thank You

I wonder if they made some of them in other languages S ...

not to my knowledge

but one never knows ... on special request maybe. at first I asked for silver instead of copper hands and they would have done that but I finally declined as I started to like the copper hands of the pocket watch

What I thought.

I hope MB begins doing some more unique references... this pocket watch, the large timer, etc all come to mind. In addition I haven't heard of any big releases like your exo tourbillon either. Seems lecamp is focused on sports watches 🤷‍♂️

MB is now for about half a year without a CEO and there seems no-one on the horizon

so Lecamp will do what he can and not do what he can't even imagine ...

💯

When you watch all his interviews he does this same receipe... tells a story about a mountain or the color of ice. Never once seems interested in the watch and horology. Creativity in horlogy is not coming up with stories to sell the watches, it is creati...

Very well put.

Just not a Montblanc... sorry. I know nothing about the clock as it was a gift from a friend Cazalea ...
