I think this is very valid but it is not our doing...it is the Swiss watchmaking industry that is causing this by their vertical integration. The specialized firms are all disappearing and being absorbed into the main conglomerates or banding together to survive...we are left dealing with the major brands and the supply chain they have put together for themselves.
The marketing further leads us down this path
Like it or not, Goldenlutin's points are exactly what A LOT of collectors are expressing quietly. While I don't necessarily agree, these points are what MB has to overcome.
