Wow guys, that is agreat review. I wish all reviews were that thorough and interesting. I really appreciate all the time you put into. The MB chrono looks beautiful and is impressive.
I had one question about something you wrote towards the end of the review:
"Based on price alone, I think Montblanc is extremely competitive since it offers a combination of complications not found in any of the watches from the three above mentionned brands [JLC, GO, and IWC]. In fact I can only recall one other modern brand which offers an unique inhouse integrated column wheel chronograph movement at a similar price point...and that specific model does not incorporate any other complications nor a vertical disk clutch."
I actualy think that JLC's EWC has an integrated in-house chrono movement with a vertical clutch mechanism and includes the same additional complications (date, worldtime with day/night indication v. second time zone hand and day night indication or the MB) and its chrono can measure events of up to 12 hours, and of course it is water resistant for swimming and has a quick strap change mechanism. The EWC is offered at a slightly higher price point than the MB seems to be, which may be justified by the additional features. But I also think that the JLC Squadra Chronograph also has a vertical clutch and a second time zone in the form of a 24-hours subdial, and I think it is offered at a very comparable price point as the MB. If I am wrong about any of this, please let me know.
None of this is to take away from the impressive watch that the MB seems to be. Thanks again for a terrific review.
