Jaeger-LeCoultre

Agreed on many counts. And let's not forget...

...to throw the new 39mm Master Control and 40mm Ultra-Thin Tribute into the mix.  While we may see these as a separate genre, the buyer will see them as within the consideration set, generating more confusion.  As we know, with confusion comes inaction--no purchase.  They are begging the buyer to say "you know, I wish they would have put this movement with this case and this dial--that would be perfect".  Choice begets choice.

Could it be that JLC is putting a number of dress watch configurations out there to "see what sticks"?  A very expensive market test, and one that is bound to mislead, as all the choices will confound the success of each.  At the very least, JLC may want to consider "harmonizing" or sub-grouping their line with more communications directed at the rationale for each.

This aside, I do agree with your point regarding larger "ultra-thin" watches.  Seems like the intersection of two trends that don't mix well.  No doubt, however, that JLC will work it through until they get it right.  Ken in NYC
