Yes, shared history, as JLC didn't only provided this movement to VC.
I like the movement of the Geophysic a lot, as you know. And of course, Vacheron didn't make a mistake when choosing it for the Chronometre Royal, whose finish is existing, when it is " rougher " on the JLC.
Though, I like that the JLC is rougher, as it is coherent with the purpose of the watch.
It is not only the lovement, but look at the cases of the Vacheron, compared to the case of the JLC. Even the cases are different, more sophisticated, more " precious " on the Vacheron.
These are two watches with very different character... and heart.
