When I picked up my grandfather's watch, I was able to try on the new Master Control Chronometer . And the Date version ref. Q4158120 was a very pleasant surprise . The blue-grey gradient sunray dial is simply wonderful . And the date window with matching...  

The prices are relatively now, but I’m sure will make a good purchase on the secondary market. I’m hoping to purchase something next year and JLC certainly on the radar.

There are elements on these that I do like quite a bit, but also elements which I am not fond of at all.... Given the saturation in the market for this type of timepiece, my preference still firmly lies with VC and the Overseas line in particular. So many... 

I completely understand your preference for the Overseas, especially considering the WR and ruggedness. But from a design perspective the MCC Date is absolutely wonderful and I prefer it over any Overseas, personally. Keep us posted when your VC visit is ... 

This is a watch that I certainly want to see in real. As far as I know there is a similar to the Overseas micro-adjust system on the bracelet .

There was no micro adjustment system on the example I tried and the sales person confirmed that there wasn’t one… Is it a feature which will be present on the final product which shouldn’t be delivered before early September ? Best, Emmanuel

I, two, liked the three-hander version the best aesthetically, and this was the version I ended up ordering. I think this is a very elegant and successful watch.

Not having seen them live makes any opinion preliminary but given that you asked for thoughts… First of all, strategically I find JLC is mighty late to the party, coming possibly at the tail end of the trend. That is clearly unfortunate. As for the watch ... 

that the micro-adjustment will be included when the watch is first released to customers in September 2026.

Even if there is no micro adjustment system on my Alpine Eagle and it has never been a problem for me…

But for an integrated bracelet watch it is a standard requirement nowadays to accommodate as many wrist shapes and sizes comfortably, as possible 😊🤷🏻‍♂️

I must say that I agree with everything you say, except that the hands-on experience with the MCC Date is really appealing. And, as the price is fairly reasonable, some criticisms become somewhat minor. At least for me. JLC is indeed late to the party, bu... 

But there is very little ‘Future’ in the watch - as nice as it might be it does not move the goalposts of the industry 😊🤷🏻‍♂️

But in person the MCC Date is really appealing and even more than the Futurematic-inspired MCC Date Power Reserve…

The steel models look very nice. I would like to see the steel perpetual as well - personally I don't mind busy dials. I like the pattern on the bracelet. Certainly it looks unique and not just another Oyster copy. All the best, Jon

compared to other pieces mentioned in the thread: obtainability. The date model is rose/pink looks very nice to my eye, I'm hoping to see one at my AD.

I like it 😊, I think will look Stunning in a Black Dial, or a 70s inspired Caramel Brown Dial 😍

The grey-blue dial really caught my eye even if I tend to be easily bored by blue dials as I think far too many have been made… Best, Emmanuel

The bracelet seems the standout for me. I also think the low WR, as well as the lack of lume, leave more to be desired. But overall a handsome watch that many will enjoy!

There are some technical shortcomings, that’s for sure, but the watch remains beautiful and attractive, imo. Best, Emmanuel

The time and date version is my favorite too. I would live to see this one in RG and brown dial...that could be very appealing! Why is 50m resistance an issue during the summer? Assuming you won't just jump into the water at the beach, 50m should be prett... 

do anything including my aquatic activities with the watch I wear during summer. It’s one of the reasons why the Alpine Eagle felt suitable for me. If I bought an MCC Date, I wouldn’t dare to swim with it and it would be a problem for me. Best, Emmanuel ... 

I usually just swap watches if I will do some heavy aquatic activity and I don't have the right watch with enough WR.
