Not all that surprising I suppose, as the prices on desirable vintage timepieces in wonderful condition have skyrocketed over the past few years. This is a beautiful example, and somebody obviously really wanted it. Darren

Appreciation.... There was the Polaris, the Deep Sea Alarm, some colored Reverso dials, and now, the Geophysic. I hope some other vintage JLCs will have their " glory time "! Best, Darren. Nicolas

If we get the same outcome in the let's say next 20 auctions, then it will be significative. This is a sign of appreciation, an appreciation of a Watch in excellent condition, that is all. Let's say that the days when the Geophysic was at 4 or 5 K Euros (...

I am fortunate to have one of each (steel, YG, RG)...but no cross-hair, so even that theme is still not complete

As you have two SS, you can trade one for a YG. So, it will be three different Geos.... Then you will miss the De Luxe, which is, well not very enthusiasming, and the Cross Hairs.... Which is problematic. Best, Nicolas

who was the final buyer? Did JLC pull a PP move and "pad" the auction? PP started padding auctions back in '97, simultaneously presenting the "You never actually own..." ads. Over the next 10-to-15 years, PP needed to do this less and less, as they had go... 

... very good point. Which makes me think that "affordable" used JLC watches will mean used watches that are 10-20 years old max and that anything older will be at a very high price...

Which Vintage JLC reached a high price? Polaris, Deep Sea Alarm, Reverso ( some colored dials ) and the Geophysic. And, once again, it has to be relativized, and compared to vintage PP and Rolexes.... The rest is quite affordable, but it may change a bit,...

Hi, I'm new to the forum, and relatively new to JLCs. It seems if they are padding, they are doing it unevenly -- Bonhams in London sold a YG Geophysic two days after Antiquorum for £5,250 best regards Tim
