Each one these is special in its own way, and JLC was arguably at its peak in this era, flexing its watchmaking prowess together with wonderful dial and case design with welded lugs, complex case designs and textured dials. They appear to have suffered from less than stellar marketing during that period, unfortunately.
I replaced my black dial WG chronograph with the original YG version as it has a wonderful warmth to it and I wanted the OG Duometre in my collection.
The WG Duometre UTT has an astounding number of complications and an interesting chiseled dial. Complication include:
1. Dual time zones
2. 2nd time zone can be set to any time you want, to the nearest minute
3. Jumping hour complication for travel time
4. Hacking and zero reset for second hand
5. Two power reserve indicators (for home and travel times)
6. Dual Wing system
7. Projection map indication of 2nd time zone
8. Day/night indicator for travel time zone
And the WG Duometre Quantieme Lunaire with enamel dial is the most elegant of all with a beautiful enamel dial and moon phase. It also has a smaller 40.5mm case vs 42mm for the others.
I hope you enjoyed this brief tribute to our beloved JLC of past.
