11 years after the unveiling of the lovely Reverso Platinum Nr 1, Jaeger-Lecoultre decided to modernize this superb watch. Did this watch have to be changed? Definitely not, as it still is very modern, timeless. The Platinum Nr 1: Goodbye the GT platinum ...

until you brought attention to it in the new larger case.. and really..it blends nicely..until you see the Platinum Nr 1. either way...I love skeletons and this is a great looking piece updated for today... Thanks for the intro..any idea on MSRP?

Count a bit less than 50 000 Euros... Not sure of the price tag, by the way, but if I remember well, we are in this zone. Best, Nicolas

and VERY hard to capture in photos. I do like JLC's "upward" move (this would sit well next to a skeletonized Calatrava 5180, etc.), and at 50 pieces (rather than 500), it makes it special), it should be harder to find and should hold its value better. -D... 

Especially when you see that ten years aftern, there were some for sale, NOS... I am not even sure that JLC did make all the 500 pieces, by the way. 50 is more realistic, IMO, on this kind of watch. And the combo of the blue enamel frame with the skeleted... 

I would have taken the opportunity of the enlarged case to propose a more contemporary skeletonizing syle (sorry, I don't see the modernity here. Timeless maybe, modern, I don't think so): I find it too baroque for an Art-Deco watch. 11 years later, I wou... 

And, like you, I am much more attracted by a modern skeleton, ala Tourbillon Skeleton, released in 2004 in a LE of 35 pieces. Not that this one is bad looking, it is just that I would have dreamt to see something ala Tourbillon Skeleton... Lighter, less b... 

That one is beyond compare.

First of all: a beauty thanks for sharing. But indeed a more modern twist to the finish of the skeleton would have been even better. Though I love skeleton watches, I do think the decorations though exquisit kraftsmanship, very often are a bit out of tune... 

I loved a lot the Reverso Platinum Nr 1, so I am happy to see its evolution, but on another side, I would have maybe preferred a more modern interpretation of the skeleton. Best, and thanks for sharing your thoughts. Nicolas

and the first thing that struck me was how easy it was to tell the time. Some skeleton watches can be difficult to see the hands but the blue enamel border around the face actually emphasizes the hands and makes them very legible. Wonderful detail and fin...

Since the reports here on the red,white,blue reverso trio and help from Purists I have been pursuing the blue enamel dial reverso. Your report Nicholas confrms for me my original choice as I am a blue dial nut. I have been waiting for your report to see i... 

The Blue Enamel Reverso is a superb watch, too. I see your point on the GT case of the Nr 1, and its adequation with the skeleton dial. Happy to know that you found an answer, and most of all, that you will get a superb watch. Best! Nicolas

a beautiful creation by all measures as you stated... 50 pieces only...thats a small limited number im not afraid of... to appreciate such kind of beauty , to love it and want it require a minimum presence of a mature taste ... or am i just convincing my ... 

I don't know if JLC will put it on the definitive watch, but it would be much nicer with than without, to make echo to the blue enamel frame... These are these small details which make the difference, in my opinion, between a nice watch, and a special one... 

I like the original one much more. Very happy with the engraved side of the frame surrounding the movement of the new model, but I think the blue frame on the front side is a little bit overwhelming. And absolutely needs a sapphire cabochon crown. I think... 

Well, the one was something... The latest skeleton is not bad, either... It was a bit risky for JLC to re do it, though. I really hope they will re think the crown and add a cabochon. Let's wait and see. Thanks for your input, my friend, and best! Nicolas

Nico, you aleays manage to capture tthe essence of every watch and movement. Truly you brighten my day while making me hunger for my next purchase. I have always desired the no. 1 and 2 movements, and regret that jlc only made 50 for he reprisal, even tho...

Thank you for your review and thoughts on the watch. I do not mind the older style skeleton . The blue enamel frame is stunning and for me makes it very attractive. I would not have missed the sapphire cabuchon if you had mot mentioned it. Now that you ha...

not 100 % excited.I much prefear the blue enamel reverso. In this case I find the baroque finish of the skeleton and the guilloche enamelling a bit too much,it makes it look a bit like a Faberge' creation. Splendid watch but somehow it seems like it belon...
