Jaeger-LeCoultre

Thanks!

I first asked the questions in the thread of your MMR review.  I'm wondering if the gong material is made out of the same material as the classic round wire type gongs or they might have a new alloy in these newer gongs. As I understand, round gongs are made on a lathe first and then drawn through smaller and smaller holes until they reach the desired thickness and then bent and heat treated.  There are stories about repeater gongs being heat treated and dipped in horse urine to get the best sound.  These processes are usually very secretive.  I would apprecate any more technical info you can get from the JLC folks.   Have a great time at the shows!
