Among the 3 most known black cases ( PVD, DLC and Ceramic ), the Ceramic is the hardest material.
PVD and DLC are applied on SS or titanium cases, SS been the softer ( 600 Vickers ), then the Titanium, and the harder being the Ceramic with 1 500 Vickers.
It is also the most technical material, as JLC chose ( I don't know for the other brands ) a blend of 95% zirconium Oxydes and 5 % Yttrium Oxydes, in powder.
The high technology of this material makes echo to the sophisticated conception of the watch, IMO.
The cons?
I don't know if it will resist to a violent shock, but would tho PVD and DLC SS or Titanium cases better resist?
I'm not sure at all...
I'm not a big fan of Black watches, which I consider a bit too trendy for my taste, but with the Amvox III, I would be pleased to make an exception.
Hope this will be of some help, my friend.
Best,
Nicolas
