We started out almost the same; mine was a Rolex Sea-dweller 16600. After that we have gone very different ways and now we meet again by the black dialled memovoxes. How wonderful! And who knows, in time I might be able to break out from the modern JLC...

I am curious... when i was in Basel, i saw a picture of teh Quantieme Lunaire. It captivated me. I love JLC, and while i have been somewhat distracted by my Patek/Rolex/Tudor additions, my heart always sits with JLC. I have visited the manufacture base on...

Hi Blomman, Tough question Actually I've already asked myself the same question and there is no definitive answer. Almost same story for me, because the 65 was annouce only in platinum I've forgot about it and I was "dreaming" about the 68. Few month late...

I understand that you fell for her, redialled or not! And that you got her together with Purist friends makes it even better! The concept to get them all doesn’t work for any of us, unfortunately. I have stopped thinking which one I should get; now I thin...  

in your picture that gets attention, Blomman: Up to now mine was the only sample that I knew of which is lacking the luminous dots on the dial around the alarm disk. Instead there are black rectangles.I thought it was due to the redial on mine. Now I see ... 

But this one should be from approx 1960. I have seen a couple more on different sites with the same dials like ours. What bugs me on with this dial; Luminous on the hands, but not on the hour marks? Luminous on the hands, but no markings around SWISS MADE... 

I noticed it and the seller confirmed it to you. No writing above " 6 ", and no luminous dots around and out the alarm disk. Best, Nicolas

To me, your dial has been redone, but it is not weird, as a lot of dials were ruined, due to a water resistance problem. Best, Nicolas...  

I see what you mean about the 6 o’clock. But if you look closely the 6 o’clock hour mark on mine is shorter then on your photo. An indication of that there should be some text there? I agree with you that the luminous dots at the hours seem to miss. No ma... 

I'm on several topics, and posts to prepare at the same time, and I have a special guest who came from Great Britain, so I begin to be in trouble... As for dials, Swiss Made and Swiss were used till the end of the 50ies for radium dials ( or not luminous ...

You bought a watch from the 60ies, and you want to service it in 2010. There are no Tritium dials anymore. JLC put another dial, close to the original one, when the dial is totally ruined. OR, if the dial is in bad condition, they try to clean it. OR they...

It was the steel black dial Master Reserve de Marche on bracelet in 2003: But it was the Master Geographic that attracted me to the brand. At that time, the AD here only had the white dial Master Geographic. I was a little anxious to get a JLC then and co...

Hmmm... this brings back memories My first JLC was the Reverso Grande Date. The Reverso models have drawn my attentions since i'm into watches. After a few visits to AD's i though the GD was the perfect Reverso for me. After while i finally had enough fun...  

Monochrome, then you understand me what I was rambling about… One thing to try a bit at the AD, another thing to actually bring it home with you! I agree with you the Reverso GD is beautiful! I was very tempted by the crystal back, but finally went for th... 

I have been trying different Reverso models and used to be convinced that the Grande GMT would be the best choice. Than i tried the Grande Date... and fell in love. Until it was on my wrist for a few weeks. Nothing wrong with this watch, i still think it'...

Because of some changes in my life i wanted to give myself a watch to mark this period. This had to be a new watch and it had to be very special to me... The Reverso GD is a beautiful watch and it had been a dream for a long time, to once own a JLC Revers...

You right. It's made by Stepan Sarpaneva, a Finnish watchmaker indeed. In the AHCI section i posted a review of the Korona K1 including many technical aspects of the watch like the movement. If you have time, check it out
