Well, let's imagine the following situation

 


You bought a watch from the 60ies, and you want to service it in 2010.

There are no Tritium dials anymore.

JLC put another dial, close to the original one, when the dial is totally ruined.

OR, if the dial is in bad condition, they try to clean it.

OR they relume or and repaint it.

Of course, JLC doesn't do anything without the owner's permission.

OR some watchmakers re do the dial, as I saw on some watches.

There are many explanations to that.
