Sharing a favourite number - "46"

Feb 25, 2017,07:49 AM

Hi all,

I've been an ardent (if silent) follower of these great forums since 2010. I really appreciate everyone sharing their knowledge, opinions and great wrist shots. In good times, and challenging ones, I've found that a quick review of the various posts immediately puts me in a good mood...so thanks to all!

I hope you don't mind me sharing my pride and joy with you.
Master Compressor Extreme World Chronograph - Valentino Rossi edition, limited to 246 in rose gold smile

Of course, at 46mm x 16mm it's quite a hefty watch to wear...and difficult to fit under a good shirt cuff...but nonetheless I love it and wear it a lot smile)

I also love the contrast between the RG and Titanium, and the warmth of the gold's colour in different lights.

I hope you don't mind my gratuitous iPhone shots wink

Need to also order a new strap...will be done shortly!
Has anyone got advice on whether I should go for the standard JLC strap(s) again for this model, or whether there is a good alternative from another supplier?
I'd plan to keep the rg deployment clasp in use on whichever I switch to.

I still stop to stare every time I go to read the time.

Though in saying that, I have the itch to add something new... Perhaps the new steel Master Control Chronograph?? What do you think??

All the very best, and happy Saturday.

NoH

Thanks for speaking up - it's great to hear from readers who aren't as vocal as some of us

An extremely nice watch that you have, too. I love the look of that JLC but as you note, it takes a strong wrist to carry it around. I trust the little ones don't play with it when you are not looking? Cheers, Cazalea

Mercifully my kids are still at ages where Spider-Man and Princesses completely out-rank JLC ...but they're certainly catching the watch-bug... ...

Though I can assure you, they weren't the first attempt pictures! I had the recent most amazing pleasure and privilege to see a couple of Greubel Forseys in Paris, but the iPhone was definitely not the best tool for the job on that occasion. The memory re...

Excellent. It has been an eternity I didn't see one. A huge beast but a lovely one. Thanks for these pictures. As for your question,

I would say that the new steel Master Chrono with its sector dial is a good choice, the Deep Sea Chrono as well. Or well, why not a Reverso Tribute Duo in steel? Best, Nicolas

Good suggestion

Thanks Nicolas, I hadn't thought of the Deep Sea Chrono. I'll definitely look into it as I particularly like the chrono pushers on that model. As for the Reverso Tribute Duo, I really like it (especially the grey-blue side), but when I tried on a friend's...

Do you wear it daily? Some years ago a good friend, who owned the unlimited steel version, let me try it on my wrist. At that time it felt rather big. Today I would wear it easily. Cordially and wear it in best health, Thomas

I switch between the JLC and a Longines Master Collection Chrono depending on where I'm going or what I'm doing. This originally came on a brown strap with pin buckle, but I've recently changed it to blue with deployment clasp and am much happier with it ...

about five years ago I enquired about it at the JLC boutigue in Boca, Florida, they told me it is no longer in production but they could get a NOS one. I am still saving for it. Great daily wear Congratulations . Best Regards Edward

Yes, it seems they sold out relatively quickly, and were hard to come by. To be honest, I came across it by accident at my AD's when looking for an AMVOX, which I passed on to get this. Still happy with my choice All the best, Niall
