Only you can decide what spec you are happy with, but I suggest you take it off the winder and wear it for awhile
By awhile, I mean weeks or a month wear it each day, or every other day. And then experiment with different ways of leaving it on the desk or bedstand at night.
Watches are made to be worn and even though the winder may keep it wound so you need not worry about resetting the perpetual date, month, etc. it provides an artificial stimulation and environment, which is Not equal to wearing.
It is easy and common for watches to get magnetized. I am not saying that yours is -- but I am suggesting that it's a very common cause of the symptoms you are seeing. Here are some things to watch out for:
- medical equipment, such as going to the doctor's office and having a scan of any sort
- large TV monitors
- large stereo speakers
- high-strength magnets (on the refrig, calendar, etc)
- security scans at the airport
- proximity to laptops
- telecom switching stations
- computer rooms
But in any case 4 seconds a day fast one month and 8 seconds a day six or nine months later is minimal. My best watches, such as my IWC perpetual, stay on the winder until I wear them, say once every one or two months, and they will typically lose a few minutes in that period.
My watch mentor used to tell me when he was showing how to adjust watches, "A second a day loss is too much for almost any customers; although ten seconds gain is fine. Always set it to run fast."
