Now More Than Ever...

.... it's hard not to love this watch. This watch helped launch the AMVOX line with a masculine elegance that hasn't been matched by other auto-affiliated watch lines. I feel like the AMVOX line has enjoyed a stronger, longer run and avoided co-branding novelty stigma because this very watch cut such an independent, distinctive, yet nuanced profile.

When AMVOX watches launched, the conventional wisdom in the watch industry seemed to be that "car" associations required various carbon fiber motifs, tire-patterned rubber straps, huge, speedometer-style bezels, busy dials, and TONS of automotive brand logos, prominently displayed (e.g. Bentley, Ferrari, etc.).

AMVOX took a completely different tack, and that was a profoundly innovative idea at the time. It was inspired by the subtle power, sporting intent, and craft quality of Aston Martin rather than literal automotive symbology. The ability to recognize and capture the spirit rather than the literal image of a muse is a rarity in art, and it elevates this watch to the level of the best architecture, music, and even impressionist depiction.

It's the patriarch of a proud line; wear it with pride.

And photograph it. A lot.
