I have never seen that ad previously, and actually I wasn't aware of the existence of this 'US model Futurematic' by Cartier.
Appart from that model, and the so-called 'Jaques-David leCoultre' rectangular triple date moonphase, Cartier watches used to be based on European Jaeger LeCoultre models.
However, the remarkable thing with these 'US-LeCoultre Cartiers' is that they were made in 18k, whereas the US-LeCoultre model they were based on were in gold-filled (Cartier would for sure not sell such a 'low-end' quality gold filled case at that time , an error they did in the 80's when Alain Dominic Perrin brought the Cartier brand to mainstream mass luxury with the 'must' line, something Richemont surely regrets today)
Thank you for the advert !
