Jaeger Lecoultre Polaris Memovox 50th Anniversary: Some key points

 By: amanico : November 8th, 2018-07:35
We discussed the Polaris Memovox when it was unveiled at the SIHH 2018. The main interrogation was to know how we should consider it: A Re Edition or a modern interpretation of a Cult watch. I said, and I confirm after all these months, that this is not a...

Absolutely agre Nicolas! This new version exudes high quality. It is a re interpretation of an original classic design as Rolex does with their GMT, Subs, etc....

... I like this watch so much under this point of view. I specially like the dial different surfaces treatment as well. It surprises me so much that under this philosphy of change the new watch didn´t include a screw back case and screw down crowns. This ...

It is true, but I would like to have the peace of mind of having a true diving watch on wrist when I get into the sea or pool. I like to take my watch with me at all times. Guess...

... there is no technical problem for JLC except higher costs of production may be. In any case it is a wonderful watch! Cheers! Abel

My favorite complication is the alarm. I think it's the most useful in my life. I love to play with crono's like everyone else, and I own two perpetual Patek's, but I find I wear a Vulcain Cricket most days lately. I've been wanting this watch and I think...

Morning. I tried this on yesterday. This watch is a masterpiece. Well made, correct proportions and sublime finishing. The alarm chime is mellow. The vibration of the alarm is gentle. I agree shame about the screw in crowns. The strap is also super comfy....

Your post on diving watches is excellent.

I've been eyeing to get back in the JLC game - after previously owning the Valentino Rossi EWC. This piece ticks a lot of boxes - heritage, design, complication, understated ness, utility - and I am hoping to see one soon. Like others it's been hard to fi...

And the deed is done...

I’ve been interested for a few weeks now so they had my name...I was really lucky as they had a brand new shipment that just came in. Good luck with your search! Peter

Yes I saw them in stock here too...

You are right - despite a lower quantity that model seems to be more available and the boutique did point me to the model as an alternative to the Polaris Memovox. It’s a nice looking piece but I prefer the “neo-vintage” design. Sometimes it’s better to s...
