Buying myself a Christmas present and I can't decide between the two. Everyone says get it down to 2 but now what. Do I get the master grande memovox platinum LE w the blue face and solid back or the Duometre QL. I know you will all say go with the one yo... 

BUT... I love a lot the Master Grande Memovox. Its dial is too busy, for sure, but there is a " surranné " charm I like a lot, in this watch, and the combination of the perpetual calendar with the alarm is not only unique, it is also original. BUT... I wo...  

Since the platinum memovox is older should I maybe snag that up now and the price is right a d wait for a duometre in white metal? Newer watch and maybe easier to locate in future. They both seem to be great watches. Just a thought after reading one of th... 

take the perpetual now and look at the Duometer when/if it comes in white metal. Let's face a fact: buing one of these nice watches, the big majority gets hooked and other watches will follow. I have seen this perpetual once in platin and it is really a "... 

This will not be appropriate to the spirit of this " Family watches ". My guess is that ( only a guess, eeeh? ) that we'll see a white metal Duometre à Q.L next year. And my other guess is that it will be WG. Let's see if I'm good at pronostics... Best, N...

There was ( is ) a limited production which came ( comes ) with the white grained dial, while the " current " Chrono comes with a silver grey grained dial. Ok, we are playing on words, as, even if it is not clearly specified, even the current Duometres ar... 

any idea about the number produced aprox per year ?

To hear that only a few hundred were made between their release in 2007 till October 2009. That was I've been told by the Master Watchmaker at the JLC Manufacture, when I was there. As for the Chronographs, I'd say somewhere between 100 and 200 per year, ...

Will try to find the good moment to post a topic I dedicated on the Duometre à Q.L, by the way. To sum it in a veryfew words, an original chronometric piece. As for the next Duometre to come, only God and JLC know what it is. I would love to see a kind of... 

I have learned that you have many crystal balls from where you can see to the future. And your JLC ball is bright and well polished. I am very happy if JLC will not come with with a platinum Duometre. This means that I'm saving € 40-50 k cash. I hope you ... 

I love to be positively suprised, too! More seriously, what I noticed these 2 or 3 last years is that platinum is less and less the JLC choice, in favor of the WG. Maybe because Times are not propice to ask for a platinum premium? Hence my guess... Best, ... 

but at leat for me platinum is the #1 material for the finest of watches. Thus, in my opinion it is a great pitty that there is not even one platinum Reverso in regular production. For me this means that if I want to get a really fine watch (but sometimes...

I'd go for the Platinum Memovox for a couple of reasons: (1) 250 pieces made (2) only JLC makes a perpetual calendar w/alarm (3) it is, simply, a more practical watch. Now, I'm NOT saying I don't love the Duometer QL, I DO! But I see the MGM as a GREAT da...
